How to choose your Carver wheels?
Wheel hardness:
For surfskating, the ideal wheel is soft, typically between 75a and 86a.
These wheels are lightweight, smooth-rolling, and work well on various surfaces.
Softer wheels offer more comfort on rough terrain and better grip.
Harder wheels, while easier to slide, offer less comfort on uneven surfaces.
Wheel shape:
Squarelips: Better for grip and control during carves, corners, and downhill riding.
Roundlips: Better for slides, freeride, and surfskate-style carving where smooth transitions and flow are key.
Wheel Diameter:
60mm to 70mm: Small, lightweight wheels accelerate quickly but sacrifice some grip and comfort compared to wider wheels.
65mm to 70mm: A versatile size, balancing acceleration, comfort, and grip.
Over 70mm: Larger wheels maintain a balance of acceleration, comfort, and grip but may require risers.
Important Note: For wheels over 65mm, risers are recommended between the trucks and the board to prevent the wheels from rubbing against the deck, which could cause sudden braking. If unsure, feel free to contact our customer service team for assistance.
